Well, it isn't really. It is however, cold. And that's something, I guess.
I am getting ready to make some triple chocolate bark to give as gifts for the holidays. I will also be making some homemade cocoa mix with homemade marshmallows as well. Doesn't that sound lovely?
I like cooking for people for the holidays. I know the gifts are temporary, in the fact that they get consumed. However, I have always felt better after receiving a gift that someone made versus a gift that someone bought. Especially food. I don't think I'm alone in this. It gives me a chance to try to cook things I've never done (like homemade marshmallows), and the monetary cost is relatively low. I would be lying if I didn't say that was a consideration, because it is. However, the time investment is much higher. My opinion? If you have spent time in your kitchen baking goodies for my tummy, that is worth far more than the money spent on something else. Don't get me completely wrong; I like a nice gift every now and then. But I would prefer if a gift to me did not include added consumer debt to the giver.
So, now is the time on Sprockets when we cook. G-nite!
