My friend Tom tagged me with the One Book Meme. The original is very faith-based, but I don't think it has to be. Here is my list:
1. One book that changed your life -- The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis.
2. One book that you've read more than once -- Can this be a trilogy? If so, I choose the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I've read this alot. A LOT. The computer I am typing this on is named Valinor.
3. One book you would want on a desert island -- The Federal Tax Code so that I could use all that paper to build fires.
4. One book that made you laugh -- Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. This is such a nerd book.
5. One book that made you cry -- I'm not going to pansy out on this one, Tom. East of Eden by John Steinbeck. One of the most important books I have ever read.
6. One book that you wish had been written -- The Life and Times of Gandalf the Grey by J.R.R. Tolkien.
7. One book you wish had never been written -- Anything by Danielle Steele. *shudder*
8. One book you are currently reading -- Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow. I don't have an opinion yet (just started), but I sure like the premise.
9. One book you've been meaning to read -- The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
10. Now tag five people -- Jim, John, Mike, Kerry, Trey (whom I have never met, but seems like a list kind of guy.)
I choose you!
